In the fall of 2024, we purchased two inexpensive hoop house greenhouses from Amazon, one 7′ x 12′, and one 10′ x 20′. We set up the smaller one up by the house, to be used for starting plants and herbs. You can read more about them here: Greenhouses

There are times in life where you just need to get something fixed, quickly, simply and cheaply. I ran into one of those times when we were renting in MI. I swear that those cheap vertical blinds that they put in rentals are designed to break thereby giving them a reason to not give you your security deposit back. Also to remind you that living is sad. You’re left to stare at blinds with missing slats knowing you can’t replace them, sometimes you can’t even hide them with curtains. Well no more! Today we take back our happy! We get back our security deposit!
It started upstairs. In our bedroom. Last year it moved to the basement. As weather allowed the lettuce and spinach moved outside.
