New Shop

The barn burned down last November.  We finally got it all cleaned up and are building a new shop.  It’s going to be 56′ x 32′.  I’m going to include a 22′ x 12′ metal and welding shop, a 12′ x 10′ finishing room, an office, a dust collector & air compressor closet, and a bathroom.  I haven’t figured out exactly how big the office will be yet.  I don’t want to lose too much main floor space.

We’ve been clearing trees, cutting and chipping for some time now.  Ready for the building to be erected.

The builder began last Friday, digging post holes and setting the posts.  Here is the site:

Tuesday they delivered the trusses and steel, and Wednesday they framed and set trusses.

They got the trusses set and a lot of  the framing done.

Friday they finished the building, just overhead doors are left.

    wow what fabulous shop space when ya get it all done if you havn’t ! just stumbled on to your site so don’t know how far along U are. I live In Kokomo but at present doing the winter In deep south Texas. So in other words I am not knowns as a SnoBird but rather a Winter Texan. our town down here? Harlingen, n yes its warm. Yes I turn bowls, pens N other stuff. got hooked on segmented down here. I have one of the pennstate lathes, 2 chop saws, atable top band saw in a utility shed for here. at home 2 Rikon lathes etc.
