I too made a set of plywood bowl jaws but I found that the holes that I used most tended to wear. So I drilled them out and turned up sleeves with the inside hole to suit my bolts (pins). I knurled the outsides to give them better grip and glued them into the holed with epoxy. My metal of choice was brass because I had some from another project.
Bob, that’s a great idea. I’ve wondered how they would stand up. I’ve considered drilling out the holes on the back to fit T nuts. If I get around to that, I will post an update. Thanks!
