Fly Fish Pen

Hello, welcome to this week with Wolf Studios!

brass hardware with images connected to fishing cast pen blank made from shop scraps

Recently I’ve been able to get another pen out and my word it’s turned out beautiful. The request I had for it was to use some type of wood, and we just so happened to have a few blanks we made a long while ago which were just some scrap pieces of wood from other pens.

The turning process was nice to get done even did a superglue finish on it which made it come out nice and shiny. Though with the blank, we had used a clear acrylic solution, which you can see in that brass portion of the finished pen and it matches the kit beautifully.

Editor’s note: This blank was made using cut off pieces from other projects both wood and acrylic.  There will be a series of posts on resin casting from making the blank boxes to finishing them in the pressure pot.
