The barn burned down last November. We finally got it all cleaned up and are building a new shop. It’s going to be 56′ x 32′. I’m going to include a 22′ x 12′ metal and welding shop, a 12′ x 10′ finishing room, an office, a dust collector & air compressor closet, and a bathroom. I haven’t figured out exactly how big the office will be yet. I don’t want to lose too much main floor space.
Here’s a Sketchup image of the building as planned. The structure to the left will be a solar kiln.
Here’s the proposed interior layout.
Here’s a Visio floor plan:
We’ve been clearing trees, cutting and chipping for some time now. Ready for the building to be erected.
The builder began last Friday, digging post holes and setting the posts. Here is the site:
Tuesday they delivered the trusses and steel, and Wednesday they framed and set trusses.
They got the trusses set and a lot of the framing done.
Thursday they got most of the framing done.
Tuesday they got the roof on.
Wednesday they got the wainscoting, windows, door, and front wall on.
Friday they finished the building, just overhead doors are left.
We also got plumbing started.
